Maunsell Street factory

Our first Industrial building, the Maunsell Street factory is fairly standard pre-cast concrete work with timber mezzanines inside.

The client was keen to make something more attractive than the neighboring warehouses, and the lower black box helps soften the rather brutal facade.  The full height glazing also adds interest to the street-front, and the head line is carried right along to the roller door.

A particularly successful feature is the glass panel beside the roller door.  Generally these roller doors are inserted into the concrete wall with no concern for appearance.  Our innovation was to cleverly design the aluminum window so it could support the roller door guide and structural lintel above.
